Health Insurance for Diabetic Mellitus

Diabetes Mellitus or Diabetes is a lifestyle disorder that can often trigger other severe diseases.

There are two types of Diabetes: Type I and Type II Diabetes.

With proper medical care, you’ll be able to not only control your sugar levels but also lead a healthy life. However, with extensive medical treatments, huge bills come into the picture, which is why you may need Health Insurance for Diabetic patients.

As is evident from its name, Diabetes Safe Insurance Policy will cover you against all expenses incurred on hospitalisation for treatment of Type I or Type II Diabetes and its complications.

 

The plan provides coverage on an individual and family floater basis that requires 24 hours of hospitalisation.

SECTION I 

Hospitalisation for the Complications of Diabetes

In-patient Hospitalisation
Hospitalisation expenses incurred for a period of more than 24 hours on account of  illness, injury or accidents are covered. 

 

Pre-Hospitalisation
In addition to in-patient hospitalisation, the medical expenses incurred up to 30 days before the date of admission to the hospital are also covered.

 

Post-Hospitalisation
Post-hospitalisation medical expenses up to 60 days from the date of discharge from the hospital are covered as per the limits mentioned in the policy clause.

 

Room Rent
Room (Single Standard A/C Room), boarding and nursing expenses incurred during in-patient hospitalisation are covered.

 

ICU Charges
ICU charges at actuals are covered under this policy.

Emergency Ambulance
Ambulance charges for transporting the insured person to the hospital by private ambulance service are covered up to Rs. 2000/- per policy period.

 

Day Care Procedures
Medical treatments and surgical procedures that require less than 24 hours of hospitalisation due to technological advancements are covered.

 

Special Condition Under Section I
Kidney Transplantation

Donor expenses for kidney transplantation are payable if the insured person is the recipient provided the claim for transplantation is payable subject to the availability of the Sum Insured.

 

Dialysis Expenses
Expenses incurred for dialysis (including AV fistula / graft creation changes) is covered up to Rs. 1000/- per siting. If the insured person diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Diseases then the same are covered for 24 consecutive months.

 

Cost of Artificial Limbs
Expenses incurred for the cost of artificial limbs following the amputation are covered up to 10% of the Sum Insured.

Regular Hospitalisation Expenses

In-patient Hospitalisation

Hospitalisation expenses incurred for a period of more than 24 hours on account of  illness, injury or accidents are covered.

Coverage for Modern Treatment

Modern Treatment


Expenses incurred for modern treatments such as Balloon Sinuplasty, Intra Vitreal injections, Robotic Surgeries, etc. are covered up to the limits mentioned in the policy clause.

SECTION V 

Personal Accident

Personal Accident Cover


One person is eligible to avail worldwide personal accident cover at no additional cost in case of accidental death.
